R&D Projects / Eyevid

Eyevid

The objective of the project is development of a set of tools to examine road infrastructure in terms of road safety. It will enable a complex assessment of safety resulting from visibility or lack of visibility of key elements of safe movement of vehicles on the roads. The project assumes the use of modern information technology and biometrical tools, including mainly eye tracking technology and driving simulators.

About the Problem

The objective of the project is development of a set of tools to examine road infrastructure in terms of road safety. It will enable a complex assessment of safety resulting from visibility or lack of visibility of key elements for safe movement of vehicles on the roads. The project assumes the use of modern information technology and biometrical tools, including mainly eye tracking technology and driving simulators.

Solution & Technology

Within the framework of this project there will be created a set of tools intended for investigation of infrastructure and road side environment. This set based on modern engineering and information technologies will systematise the process of carrying out road safety audits, and it will enable automation of processes of development of data obtained during detailed research. Created engineering tools and methodology of their application will enable description and evaluation of engineering communication solutions, they will make obtained results more objective, and they will reduce human error factor in the area of safety research.

Traction and market

The project is conducted for specific recipients: investors in road networks, auditors, local authorities. It is implemented in close cooperation with these entities, thanks to which the effects will reflect actual needs. Devices with relevant technology and their applications will constitute an innovative set of products on the market of the European Union, on which only expert judgments are applied.
