We are happy to announce that we are one of the best three companies of the first stage of the international Chivas Venture competition. Thanks to the votes of Internet users from all over the world, we found ourselves at the forefront of socially responsible startups, and thanks to the prize (USD 20 thousand) our project, an effective aphasia rehabilitation support system, got the chance for a faster implementation.
Aphasia is a speech disorder that prevents people from communicating normally. They cannot articulate their needs, views or emotions. They cannot write, read or speak. According to available data, this disorder affects on a global scale up to 1 in 250 people. Unfortunately, aphasia rehabilitation is very difficult, long-lasting, and unavailable to many people. Our project, to a large extent thanks to the involvement of Internet users, can disrupt that state of affairs.
Only the startups from China and Brazil – LianDi and Revoada, which took first and second place respectively – received more votes. Congratulations! We are glad to find ourselves in such a good company.
We would like to thank everyone who supported us, believed in our project, voted for us and encouraged others to do so too.
But this is not the end. In less than a month we are going to Amsterdam for the grand finale of the Chivas Venture competition, in which the prize from the almost USD 800,000 pool is to be won. This time it will be the jury who decides who the victor is. Should they choose our project, we will have raised the funds necessary for further development of our project. Then all the people suffering from aphasia around the world will be able to make use of a device that will help them return quickly to a normal life.
