One of our devices, Neuro Device Scent™, was used in a study “Somatosensory Response to Trigeminal Stimulation: A Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS)” conducted by scientists from the Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors at the TU Dortmund and the MSH Medical School Hamburg, University of Applied Sciences and Medical University.
The aim of the study was to show the neural response in the somatosensory cortex in reaction to irritants. It will allow development of a relatively inexpensive but innovative method for the objective evaluation of volatile substances irritating to humans.
Neuro Device Scent™ is our original olfactometer – a system for presenting olfactory stimuli during sensory analysis and examination of the nervous system, which enables us to measure human’s neural system response to odours.
The study has been published in Nature Magazine’s Scientific Reports, about which you can read here: https://go.nature.com/2Bb2Xr3
